Playing with archetypal patterns, sacred geometry and metaphor to sequence and construct classes and personal practices
Developing a personal teaching template and other tools to avoid burnout as a teacher
Each mentee will start the mentorship with a teaching or practice project that resonates with what they want to learn and bring to their classes. They will work one on one with both Felipe and Mary Dana to dialogue and dimension to the work.

The Mentorship in our Words:
One solid indicator of a good teacher is their ability to see who they are teaching with an open and evolving eye. The world is changing and the yoga world has changed. Teachers need solid technical tools to adapt and receive new information in order to meet the needs of our students and communities. In this mentorship, we will discover and rediscover methods and theories that challenge us to see clearly with curiosity, humility and empathy.
Seeing is believing and our word is our superpower. Cultivating clear vision and articulation as a teacher is of the utmost importance. When we are able to see the potential in the foible, the archetypal in the personal, the implicit in the explicit, we are better equipped to help meet our students where they are and help them access more space in body, breath, and minds. In this mentorship, you will learn tools and techniques to refine your vision and language.
The Eye of the Teacher Mentorship was a great investment! Each week was so informative and well planned out. The 1:1 sessions with Mary Dana and Felipe were also very helpful in helping to guide the individual and answer their specific questions. Very well-organized and I am excited about future trainings!
I recommended this mentorship without reservation to any yoga teacher who needs inspiration and a bit of refresh of their teaching toolkit. No matter what your previous training is, the principles of Katonah will give you new insights into your teaching and practice. Mary Dana & Felipe are so knowledgeable! You're going to learn so much in a really fun and supportive environment.

Katonah Yoga® is a syncretic Hatha yoga practice developed by Nevine Michaan over 40 years. She and her teachers incorporate classical Hatha yoga with Taoist theory, geometry, magic, mythology, metaphor, and imagination — in a practical framework designed to potentiate personal and communal well-being.Framing the practice, maps of time and personal space are defined and refined. Themes using asana as origami, manipulating form for function, and developing a sense of personal measure are incorporated in Katonah Yoga® practices.
Katonah Yoga® is organized around three principles of esoteric dialogue: all polarities are mediated by trinity; the universe has pattern, pattern belies intelligence; by virtue of repetition there is potential for insight.
Disciplined techniques are organized for revelation through revolutions. www.katonahyoga.com
